SOLD OUT! Join first-person interpreter Nicole Brown for a one-hour walking tour of Monticello focusing on the life of Thomas Jefferson's wife, Martha.  A private reception and question-and-answer period will follow the tour.

Brown is a first-person interpreter of eighteenth-century Virginia women, in particular Martha Wayles Jefferson. She received a fellowship from Monticello’s Robert H. Smith International Center for Jefferson Studies in 2017 to further her research in Martha Jefferson’s life and education between 1748 and 1782. Brown fashions all her own costumes and knows first-hand what it takes to create a whalebone corset, to find feathers for a hat, to craft a “housewife’s pocket” to use under her skirts
